A Letter from the Texas Section
SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting Dear Members and Colleagues: We’re inviting you all to come to Houston for the SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting and Expo. The weather this time of the year will be perfect for your visit. Our Section is very active and our monthly meetings are very well attended. We have a very diverse membership that is well connected all over the world. We’d like to see you here so we can network with our colleagues from around the globe and from the many different segments of our profession. We are very excited with the new meeting format and in working with the Meetings Committee to host the SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting and Expo. We can promise you a lot of hard work getting ready for your visit and a huge dose of Texas hospitality once you get here. The George R. Brown convention Center is a state of the art convention center. The skyway connection to the hotels makes it easy to walk back and forth from your room to the convention center. Shopping, dining, museums, and special attractions are within easy reach of the convention center and connected hotels. The Houston airport is an international facility with extensive connections from all over the world. Houston, Texas is the fourth largest city in the U.S. From world-class museums, incredible dining, and professional sports, to an out-of-this-world space experience, it’s all here in Houston. As part of your visit to the SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting and Expo you might want to set aside some extra time before or after the Annual Meeting to enjoy what Houston has to offer. (Maybe even get that Stetson hat or pair of cowboy boots you’ve always wanted.) We’re looking forward to hosting you for the SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting and Expo. We promise you a new and exciting meeting format and the kind of friendly hospitality only available here in Texas. So don’t wait. Put October 15-17, 2008 for SNAME 2008 Annual Meeting and Expo in Houston Texas on your calendar now and register to attend as soon as registration opens.
Sincerely,
Harry Ren
